Olympic gold medallist, world champion and former national surf lifesaving champion — gold in the pool at 19, gold at the World Championships at 20, and the two biggest Games of her career still ahead of her.
Jamie Perkins is an Olympic champion with her entire commercial career still in front of her — and no partner signed yet. She won gold in the 4×200m freestyle relay in Paris at 19 and again at the World Championships in Singapore at 20, made an Olympic 400m freestyle final before most athletes make a national team, and was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2025. Before the pool she was a national surf lifesaving champion, with fourteen gold medals at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships across 2021 and 2022 — reach into surf, beach and outdoor categories that a pool-only swimmer cannot credibly carry. And the runway is the product: Los Angeles 2028, then a home Olympics in Brisbane, the city where she lives and trains — a multi-year arc rather than a single campaign window.
About Jamie
Jamie Perkins is an Olympic gold medallist and world champion freestyle swimmer from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast — a dual-sport athlete who was a national surf lifesaving champion before she was a Dolphin.
Between 2021 and 2022 she won fourteen gold medals at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships while taking a national under-16 400m freestyle title in the pool, then chose the pool and moved quickly: World Junior champion over 400m freestyle in Netanya in 2023, silver in the 4×200m freestyle relay at the same meet, and Australian selection the following year.
At the Paris Olympics she was 19. She made the 400m freestyle final and finished eighth, and won gold in the 4×200m freestyle relay — an event Australia took in an Olympic record of 7:38.08. In January 2025 she was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to sport as a gold medallist at the Paris Olympics.
Six months later she went a level higher: sixth in the 400m freestyle world final in a personal best, seventh in the 200m, and gold again in the 4×200m freestyle relay at the World Championships in Singapore — this time swimming the second leg of the final, in 1:55.13.
Born in Nambour and raised on the Sunshine Coast, she trains in Brisbane at St Peters Western under Dean Boxall, in the program behind much of Australia’s freestyle depth. Ahead of her are Los Angeles 2028 and then a home Olympics in Brisbane in 2032, at 27. Jamie intends to build the right commercial partners around her, who are committed to the journey all the way to 2032 to celebrate the mutual successes.
